Zoey Daniels has been tossed from foster home to foster home, where she grows up fast and tough. When she is placed in her “last-chance” home, she finds a reason to stay and turn her life around: her foster sister, Lexie, who is paralyzed and confined to a wheelchair. Zoey will do anything to keep her safe. After high school, Zoey is hired by a special government agency, the Department of Molecular Genetics (DMG), where she meets the other reason to remain: Daniel, her co-worker. The man she loves.

But there is something unique about Zoey. She can see fae. Because of this, the DMG hires her to work as a Collector: catching, researching, testing, and using the fae to save human lives. The work never registers on her sympathy radar. She was raised to think of fae as beasts that feed on humans and want to destroy them.

When devastation hits Seattle, Zoey's whole world is turned upside down. The electric storm connects her to a ruthless fae, a Wanderer named Ryker, whose dealings expose them to even more trouble and danger. They embark on a journey, running and hiding from both the government and fae, both of which threaten their lives and those they love.

Gate of Night (A Shade of Vampire) by Bella Forrest

Gate of Night (A Shade of Vampire #6)
by Bella Forrest

Welcome back to The Shade...

Derek and Sofia are finally enjoying a well-deserved break. Staying at a resort with good food, sun and sea, Sofia is thrilled to witness Derek’s re-introduction to the human world.

They would almost be mistaken for a normal young couple, if it were not for the red-eyed monster lurking in the shadows and watching their every move, waiting for his signal to pounce…

This is the sixth book in this series and I am loving it. I have re-read every book at least 10 times except for this one. This was a fast paced book for those of us who have read this story. I made a guess at the end of A Blaze of Sun. I was proven right and wrong. This surpassed my expectations, but also seems a little out of character. Derek who is ....... seemed different. I know giving the circumstances of being kidnapped would makes anyone act different, but afterwards he didn't seem right. And neither did Sofia. She is full of light, but became susceptible to darkness. I love this book series and its author, but this as different then the last five books. It also had it's good points too. It helped a certain someone realize that he doesn't have to live in darkness for the rest of his life. He doesn't want to see a bright light go out. I love this series and how Derek and Sofia came together and how the Shade came to be and were it is right now. I love how the people of the shade are getting their wish with the cure how the Hunters and Vampires could turn their nemesis relationship into an alliance. I urge people to read this series because it is totally romantic, funny, and it describes the troubles that people and teens go through when they are in a relationship. Obviously, your boyfriend/girlfriend is not a vampire and haven't been kidnapped, but every couple goes throughout hardship. I love this book and I recommend it to everyone!

Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout 11/15/13

Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This series is very unique and amazing. It is different then her Lux series that deals with HOT aliens!!!! I and I mean it. HOT Aliens that look like us, talk like us, but have an ego the size of the world (not kidding!). But this series deals with a girl named Alex who's has returned from the Mortal world after three years because her mother took her away. She was told something would happen to Alex if she didn't get her out of the place they called "home", the Covenant. Now that Alex is back under…saddening circumstances, she will have to go back into training. She is a half-blood. She is the child of a pure Hematoi (washed down version of a demigod) and a mortal. Her trainer is Aiden. The hardest, meanest, sexiest trainer there is at the Covenant and also a pure blood. This whole series is about Alex and her journey through many hardships, many harder then others, and how she is going to make it through 18 since there is going to be a major change on her birthday. A change that will definitely change history and the lives around her. THIS IS A SERIES THAT IS VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED!!!!!! I GIVE IT 5 STARS!!!!

Daimon (0.5):

"Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing 'I smite thee ' as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life." For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals--pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty. According to her mother, that's a good thing. But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return-the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death... because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill. The daimons have found her.

Half-blood:

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck

Pure:

There is need. And then there is Fate.
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

Deity:

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate

Elixir (3.5):

Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

Apollyon:

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

Sentinel:

It's a beautiful day for a war.

As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.

And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.

In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.

Don't Kill Dinner by Jennifer Martinez (The Rules #1)

Don't Kill Dinner by Jennifer Martinez (The Rules #1)

“I love you Kenna and I will never lose you. I promise.”

There are three rules when it comes to being a vampire in New Orleans.
1) Don’t kill dinner.
2) Don’t feed from people you know.
3) Don’t tell anyone.

Not too hard, right? Wrong. Kenna is a new vampire filled with a passion that has turned into an uncontrollable lust for blood.
Will Arthur be able to stop her feeding spree before the coven comes after her or is Kenna beyond saving?

Arthur has been watching Kenna for years, wanting her to try her own hand in life before he gave her the ultimate proposal. Now that she has accepted, will his love be enough to save her?

Let's get one thing straight. This IS about vampires. There are no sparkles and there is a twisted romance. There is mention of other paranormal creatures, but this is solely focused on vampires, especially a girl named Kenna. She was a girl was not really happy with her life until a guy named Arthur came into the diner she worked at and asked her if she was happy. Then everything changed. She had everything she could have ever wanted until she goes a little nuts about protecting humans by doing the unspeakable. I believe Kenna had the good of humans on her mind at first, then it really became about satisfying her thirst and keeping it a secret. Kenna has some problems about being left out because that is what happened when she was a human. She hates that. Arthur genuinely cares for Kenna. He has kept her safe from a distance and now he had a chance to get to know her? He is going to take it. Overall, this was an amazing book who had taken a different road then all the other YA vampire books. It has diversity from Twilight or any other book. Definitely a recommended read. My rating is 5 out of 5 stars!!!

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

OMG!!!!!!!! That was unbelievable!!!!!! So many surprises. I'm shocked and happy. I feel like jumping up and down!!!! That was so awesome!!! One of the best sequels EVER!!!!!!! Derek and Sofia should always be together or bad things will happen like Derek blacking out. Derek needs Sofia to hold back the darkness and Sofia needs Derek to feel complete. Sofia is stronger then people give her credit for. She made decisions nobody could make. She.......yeah I'm not going to tell you. You will have to read it for your self. I wish I could be a the Shade with Sofia and Derek. They are such weird people that you just can't help but love them.

The Beautiful and Cursed (The Beautiful and Cursed #1)

After a bizarre accident, Ingrid Waverly is forced to leave London with her mother and younger sister, Gabby, trading a world full of fancy dresses and society events for the unfamiliar city of Paris.

In Paris there are no grand balls or glittering parties, and, disturbingly, the house Ingrid’s twin brother, Grayson, found for them isn’t a house at all. It’s an abandoned abbey, its roof lined with stone gargoyles that could almost be mistaken for living, breathing creatures.

And Grayson has gone missing.

No one seems to know of his whereabouts but Luc, a devastatingly handsome servant at their new home.

Ingrid is sure her twin isn’t dead—she can feel it deep in her soul—but she knows he’s in grave danger. It will be up to her and Gabby to navigate the twisted path to Grayson, a path that will lead Ingrid on a discovery of dark secrets and otherworldly truths. And she’ll learn that once they are uncovered, they can never again be buried.

The Beautiful and the CursedThe Beautiful and the Cursed by Page Morgan

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

In the beginning, I thought this book wouldn't be very good. I was wrong. This is a great book for those of you who like steampunk books. It has the same old story but with a twist. There are Angels, Demons and Gargoyles. Yes. I said gargoyles. The stone statues you would see on a church like in the movie the Hunchback of Notre Dame. THis book takes place in Paris, where Ingrid, her sister Gabby, and her mother find out that out that Ingrid's twin, Grayson, is missing. The only thing Ingrid wants to do is find, but there is more around the corner then just the strangely handsome servant, Luc. There is a whole other world that Gabby and Ingrid don't know about, but will soon play a huge part in.

I think this book was well written, giving all the main characters a chance to tell their side of the story. It is a multi-split book, as I call it. Multiple characters tell their side of the exact same story and that is what makes this book such an epic read. It's spontaneous! Who knew Gargoyles could be this handsome! I can't wait for the second book, The Lovely and the Lost, to come out!

Consume (The Clann #3)

Tristan Coleman has survived the change from Clann magic user to vampire, much to Savannah Colbert's joy—and despair. By changing the Clann's golden boy and newly elected leader, even to save him from death, she has unleashed a fury of hatred and fear that they cannot escape.

As the Clann and the vampire council go to war, Tristan and Sav face a new threat—a fracturing of the all-consuming bond they share. To fight for peace, they must forge a new trust and risk everything to take down their deadliest enemy, even as they must run for their lives. Soon they will learn that some bonds are stronger than love—and some battles cannot be won without sacrifice.

Consume (The Clann, #3)Consume by Melissa Darnell

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

A great end to the trilogy. A different ending then I expected, but a great ending none the less. Samantha loves Tristan and would do anything for him, but changing him was something she didn't want to do. Yet she had to for Tristan to live. Now that he is half vampire, their relationship comes with a whole lot more problems.

The whole book was was way different then I expected, but isn't that how it always works. Tristan learns the problems that Sam had to deal with and Sam had to deal with a new Tristan. Problems arise, they are on the brink of war, and people die. After the first book, most of the second book besides the ending was pretty close to what I had imagined happening, but Consume was way different. If you haven't read the first two books, Crave and Covet, then you should read those first. If you like vampires, magic, paranormal romance, fantasy, and YA, you will love this series

Tiger's Curse (Tiger's Curse #1)

Passion. Fate. Loyalty.

Would you risk it all to change your destiny?

The last thing Kelsey Hayes thought she’d be doing this summer was trying to break a 300-year-old Indian curse. With a mysterious white tiger named Ren. Halfway around the world. But that’s exactly what happened. Face-to-face with dark forces, spellbinding magic, and mystical worlds where nothing is what it seems, Kelsey risks everything to piece together an ancient prophecy that could break the curse forever.

Tiger’s Curse is the exciting first volume in an epic fantasy-romance that will leave you breathless and yearning for more.

Tiger's Curse (The Tiger Saga, #1)Tiger's Curse by Colleen Houck

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Amazing. I couldn't put it down. It's a hopeless romantic's favorite book. You just can't help but love the characters, except the villain. It's a must read for everyone. Completely captivating. I have read a book like this. It is one of many favorite books. Now I have a white tiger obsession!!! Ren is a handsome, romantic, charming guy who is every girls dream in a guy. Kelsey is a smart, sarcastic, down to earth girl who know what she wants, but is afraid of what will happen when she lets her guard around her down. Colleen Houck did a fantastic job writing this book and I can't wait for the rest of the series.!!!!!

Crown of Midnight (Throne of Glass, #2)Crown of Midnight by Sarah J. Maas
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Absolutely fabulous!!!! The next step up from the Throne of Glass. I couldn't stop reading. I had to see where this was going to go. The plots, the betrayals, the romance, and the friendships. Everything is at stake in this book and that just makes it all better. If you were wondering who are Celeana's parents were, you'll find out in this book, and then some. You will find out what makes her Celeana, who is she and who her parents are, and who is beg=hind her parents death as well as the murderer of a friend hers. It is a most read. But before this, read the Throne of Glass. Sarah Mass did a fabulous job for the sequal and I can't wait to find out whats in store for Celeana, Chaol, and Dorian.

Together, they can face anything. But the most dangerous foe has been there all along, and when the truths are exposed and the lies come crumbling down, which side will Daemon and Katy be standing on? And will they even be together?

Origin (Lux, #4)Origin by Jennifer L. Armentrout
My rating: 5 of 5 stars

There are no words to describe what went on this book. It was a shocking, heart-stopping, pulse-pounding, romantic novel. This is the best book out of all the Lux books!! I have been wanting to read this book for a while. I couldn't wait for it to come out, but now that it is, all I have to say is: I can't wait for the next book, Opposition. Daemon and Katy are great individuals. Daemon has an act for being insulting in a laughable way, great under pressure, loving, considerate, and strong. Let's not forget he is also egotistical and HOT!!!!. Take it from Kat, he has a huge ego. Katy is beautiful, strong, adaptable (obviously), loving ,and smart-aleck. But they compliment each other really well. Their heart beats are in-sync. Now, back to the book. IT was way different then the previous three. It had a lot more action, betrayal, drama, but not a lot of romance and humor. That ok for this book because this had to be a serious book, but it would only have humor when Daemon gets Katy back. There is a killer cliffhanger. Now we have to wait for the last book to come out. It will be a long wait, but we have three books filled with Daemon being Daemon and Katy safe with Daemon. To those who haven't read Obsidian, you HAVE TO!!!! It is a way different book then other alien books. I recommend the entire Lux Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout.

A Fractured Light

A Fractured Light (A Beautiful Dark, #2)A Fractured Light by Jocelyn Davies
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

A great sequel to A Beautiful Dark. There are many decisions that Skye had to make. One of them was the most shocking in the entire book. Skye feels for Asher, maybe even loves him, but she still likes Devin. And later in the book, She will need his help do deal with her light powers. Overall, this book was great!!! There were many twists and turns and MANY plans that were made. I can't wait to find out what happens in the final book.

A Beautiful Dark

On the night of Skye’s seventeenth birthday, she meets two enigmatic strangers. Complete opposites—like fire and ice—Asher is dark and wild, while Devin is fair and aloof. Their sudden appearance sends Skye’s life into a tailspin. She has no idea what they want, or why they seem to follow her every move—only that their presence coincides with a flurry of strange events. Soon she begins to doubt not just the identity of the two boys, but also the truth about her own past.

In the dead of a bitingly cold Colorado winter, Skye finds herself coming to terms with the impossible secret that threatens to shatter her world. Torn between Asher, who she can’t help falling for, and Devin, who she can’t stay away from, the consequences of Skye’s choice will reach further than the three of them could ever imagine.

A Beautiful Dark is the first book in a captivating trilogy by debut author Jocelyn Davies.

A Beautiful Dark (A Beautiful Dark, #1)A Beautiful Dark by Jocelyn Davies
My rating: 4 of 5 stars

Two guys, one girl. Same old story. WRONG!!! This is so much more. It's about love, choices, and free will. Skye has a choice to make. Will she choose Asher and free will or Devin and no chaos in the world? Who knows, well besides those of you who have read the book. It is a different take on an angel-inspired book.I thought it would be another "girl falls for fallen angel" book, but I was wrong. I couldn't put it down. I'm just happy I'm not her. Two boys who are very different. Two councils who want to use her. Yeah, I like my life better. But I can't wait to see how things turn out in the second book. But to some up the book, its: Guardians VS. Rebels. Light VS. Dark. Orders VS. Love. Choices will be made, but what and who will she choose?

Fabulous!!! Fascinating!! What an exceptional book. I didn't understand what was happening at first, then as I read on it just got better!!!! Such an interesting take on a book. There are always copies of mythes like angels, werewolves, vampire, etc, but this is uniquely it's own category!!!! Indelible is a must read for everyone!! You have to be someone who has either the Sight or a strong Will to survive The Twixt. And some advice: always remember to take the message.

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

What a great book. One of my many favorites. Very captivating. Girl likes guy, guy doesn't see girl until a certain situation happens, and then comes the aftermath. It's very original. It has its own category, instead of being in the popular categories like vampires, fairies, etc. Those who like kinda paranormal romance, contemporary, YA, or fantasy would like this book. I highly recommend it.
