The Immortal Sin Trilogy-
Book 2: Immortal Descent
How far would you fall for answers?
Amanda has accepted her new life and the darkness has become more appealing than ever before because of Mitch. But when her world is thrown into a drastic downward spiral, she is left questioning everything. Amanda embarks on a nightmarish adventure and her faith is put to the ultimate test as she journeys onward to discover the true meaning behind family, love and her destiny between good and evil.

My Review for Immortal Sin:
First off, I would like to say that pizza is amazing. I didn't know it could change a Demon (LOL)!!!
I give this book a 4 out of 5 stars. I will tell why, but first to explain the first two sentences above!! In                             the book, there is a girl named Amanda and she lives with her grandmother. Her father disappeared after she was born and her mother is the peace core, but never calls. One night, Amanda goes to her friend's party that she is hosting because her parents were out of the country and bumps into this guy. After that everything starts to change. Her eyes change for black, to pearl, and then back to normal. Then she meets Mitch. She know that he can give her the answers she needs. Mitch on the other had has questions of his own. Once she tells him of the eye color change, it all becomes clear. She is the Immortal Sin. It is like the nephilim, born from human and of fallen angel, but without the human part. Amanda is part Angel and part Demon. That is the Immortal Sin.
By the way, did I mention that Mitch is the Demon? No! Well he is a Demon and for some reason he is changing. He is starting to feel things that he shouldn't. I mean he is a demon, why would he feel anything for Amanda? Well, we know how this will go. He is a demon. She is a Sin. They will get together. Their love is immortal and eternal, and blah blah blah. That is not how is goes. She needs to learn how to control her powers and Mitch can teach her. There is a sense of attraction, but she fights it as long as she can. She doesn't want to hurt. HE can't even say truth or please. Everything seems good, her best friend, Gregg, who is dating her other best friend, Alexia, is a watcher sent by her mother to protect her, her grandmother is an angel, and her demon loves pizza. Then another demon showed up.
The reason I gave this book a 4/5 is because it seemed to go on, and on , and on, until the action in the end with the other demon, Ravish. Amanda fights it, but Mitch just want to protect her and he figures the best way is if she is around him all the time. <---- a="" action="" all="" amp="" and="" angel="" bad.="" bit="" book="" but="" completely="" demons="" end.="" fantasy="" favorite="" fights="" i="" intended="" is="" it="" just="" like="" little="" maybe="" my="" no="" of="" others="" out="" paranormal="" pizza="" pun="" romance="" scene="" she="" so="" t="" that="" the="" there="" think="" to="" too.="" u="" understandable.="" was="" wasn="" whole="" will="">SIN
!!!

My Review of Immortal Descent:
We have Mitch and Amanda together, Gregg and Alexia together, and Prom coming up soon!! All very exciting. Amanda just wants to love and be with itch all the time and Mitch wants the same, except everybody else says that she needs to work on balance and her angel side. Then a new Watcher by the name of Luca comes to help protect Amanda. She and Mitch fight and when Prom night comes around, he doesn't even show up. But, she knows something is wrong. She found Mitch's cell and has had a dream that showed her the underworld and Mitch in danger. She has to get there fast, but doesn't know where to go. Unfortunately, she has to see one person she never thought she would have to meet, her Father.
This is a great sequel to Immortal Sin! I give it a 5/5. There were bad moments, good moments, and very beautiful moments. I hated it when Mitch never showed up for Prom. I thought she might turn to Luca when Mitch didn't show up. Thankfully she didn't. Luca seems weird. I think he might be important later on.  She really loves Mitch. I love how she tries to help everyone, but does it her own way. She got to meet her demon father. He left to protect her, but he has a big secret. He does care about her no matter if he left. I totally recommend these books!!

Teaser Tuesday 11/26/13 The Shadowhunter's Codex by Cassandra Claire & Joshua Lewis

The Codex by Cassandra Claire & Joshua Lewis

Delve into the details of all things Shadowhunter with this illustrated guide to the knowledge and lore of the Shadowhunter world.

Since the thirteenth century, the Shadowhunter’s Codex has been the one and only manual for Shadowhunters looking to brush up on their demon languages, learn proper stele use, and discover just what exactly a pyxis is. Featured in both The Mortal Instruments and The Infernal Devices, this guide is a necessity for any young Nephilim on their journey to becoming a Shadowhunter. Beautifully illustrated, the Codex contains images of the famous Shadowhunter homeland of Idris, as well as depictions of demons and other Downworlders.

But this isn’t just any copy of The Shadowhunter’s Codex. It’s Clary’s copy, and as an artist herself, she’s sketched pictures of her friends and family in the book, and scrawled helpful advice in the margins. Of course, she couldn’t exactly stop Jace or Simon from adding their thoughts either. Part encyclopedia, part history, part training manual—complete with commentary from Shadowhunters who have seen it all—this beautiful guide is a perfect supplement to the #1 New York Times bestselling series

Why Do People Become Shadowhunters, by Mangus Bane

Possible Reasons Why:
  1. You possess stout heart, strong will, and able body.
  2. You possess a stout body, able will, and wrong heart.
  3. Local Shadowhunters are ironically punishing you by making you join them.
  4. You were recruited by a Local Institute to join the Nephilim as an ironic punishment for you mistreatment of Downworlders.
  5. Your home, village, or nation is under siege by demons.
  6. Your home, village, or nation is under siege by rouge Downworlders.
  7. You were in the wrong place at the wrong time.
  8. You know too much, and should be recruited because the secrecy of the Shadow World has already been compromised for you.
  9. You know too little; it would be helpful to the Shadowhunters if you knew more.
  10. You know exactly the right amount , making you a natural recruit.
  11. You possess a natural resistance to glamour magic and must be recruited to keep you quiet and provide you with some basic protection.
  12. You have a compound last name already and convinced someone important that yours is a Shadowhunter family and the Shadowhuntersiness has just been weakened by generations of poor breeding.
  13. You had a torrid affair with a member of the Nephilim Council, and now he's trying to cover his tracks.
  14. Shadowhunters are concerned enough, they are no longer haughty and condescending enough—have sought you out to add a much needed boost of haughty condescension.
  15. You ave been bitten by a radioactive Shadowhunter, giving you the proportional strength and speed of a Shadowhunter.
  16. Large bearded man on flying motorcycle appeared to take you away to Shadowhunter school. (Note: Presence of flying motorcycle suggests bearded man may be a vampire.)
  17. Your mom has been in hiding from your evil dad, and you found out you're a Shadowhunter only a few weeks ago.
That's right. Seventeen reasons. Because that's how many I thought of. Now run off, little Shadowhunter, and learn to murder things. And be nice to Downworlders.

Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout 11/15/13

Covenant Series by Jennifer L. Armentrout

This series is very unique and amazing. It is different then her Lux series that deals with HOT aliens!!!! I and I mean it. HOT Aliens that look like us, talk like us, but have an ego the size of the world (not kidding!). But this series deals with a girl named Alex who's has returned from the Mortal world after three years because her mother took her away. She was told something would happen to Alex if she didn't get her out of the place they called "home", the Covenant. Now that Alex is back under…saddening circumstances, she will have to go back into training. She is a half-blood. She is the child of a pure Hematoi (washed down version of a demigod) and a mortal. Her trainer is Aiden. The hardest, meanest, sexiest trainer there is at the Covenant and also a pure blood. This whole series is about Alex and her journey through many hardships, many harder then others, and how she is going to make it through 18 since there is going to be a major change on her birthday. A change that will definitely change history and the lives around her. THIS IS A SERIES THAT IS VERY MUCH RECOMMENDED!!!!!! I GIVE IT 5 STARS!!!!

Daimon (0.5):

"Love in my world usually ended up with someone hearing 'I smite thee ' as she was cursed to be some lame flower for the rest of her life." For three years, Alexandria has lived among mortals--pretending to be like them and trying to forget the duty she'd been trained to fulfill as a child of a mortal and a demigod. At seventeen, she's pretty much accepted that she's a freak by mortal standards... and that she'll never be prepared for that duty. According to her mother, that's a good thing. But as every descendant of the gods knows, Fate has a way of rearing her ugly head. A horrifying attack forces Alex to flee Miami and try to find her way back to the very place her mother had warned her she should never return-the Covenant. Every step that brings her closer to safety is one more step toward death... because she's being hunted by the very creatures she'd once trained to kill. The daimons have found her.

Half-blood:

The Hematoi descend from the unions of gods and mortals, and the children of two Hematoi pure bloods have godlike powers. Children of Hematoi and mortals--well, not so much. Half-bloods only have two options: become trained Sentinels who hunt and kill daimons or become servants in the homes of the pures. Seventeen-year-old Alexandria would rather risk her life fighting than waste it scrubbing toilets, but she may end up slumming it anyway. There are several rules that students at the Covenant must follow. Alex has problems with them all, but especially rule #1:Relationships between pures and halfs are forbidden. Unfortunately, she's crushing hard on the totally hot pure-blood Aiden. But falling for Aiden isn't her biggest problem--staying alive long enough to graduate the Covenant and become a Sentinel is. If she fails in her duty, she faces a future worse than death or slavery: being turned into a daimon, and being hunted by Aiden. And that would kind of suck

Pure:

There is need. And then there is Fate.
Being destined to become some kind of supernatural electrical outlet isn't exactly awesome--especially when Alexandria's "other half" is everywhere she goes. Seth's in her training room, outside her classes, and keeps showing up in her bedroom--so not cool. Their connection does have some benefits, like staving off her nightmares of the tragic showdown with her mother, but it has no effect on what Alex feels for the forbidden, pure-blooded Aiden. Or what he will do--and sacrifice--for her. When daimons infiltrate the Covenants and attack students, the gods send furies--lesser gods determined to eradicate any threat to the Covenants and to the gods, and that includes the Apollyon--and Alex. And if that and hordes of aether-sucking monsters didn't blow bad enough, a mysterious threat seems willing to do anything to neutralize Seth, even if that means forcing Alex into servitude--or killing her. When the gods are involved, some decisions can never, ever be undone.

Deity:

"History is on repeat, and things didn't go so well the last time. "

Alexandria isn't sure she's going to make it to her eighteenth birthday--to her Awakening. A long-forgotten, fanatical order is out to kill her, and if the Council ever discovers what she did in the Catskills, she's a goner... and so is Aiden.

If that's not freaky enough, whenever Alex and Seth spend time "training"--which really is just Seth's code word for some up-close and personal one-on-one time--she ends up with another mark of the Apollyon, which brings her one step closer to Awakening ahead of schedule. Awesome.

But as her birthday draws near, her entire world shatters with a startling revelation and she's caught between love and Fate. One will do anything to protect her. One has been lying to her since the beginning. Once the gods have revealed themselves, unleashing their wrath, lives will be irrevocably changed... and destroyed.

Those left standing will discover if love is truly greater than Fate

Elixir (3.5):

Aiden St. Delphi will do anything to save Alex.
Even if it means doing the one thing he will never forgive himself for.
Even if it means making war against the gods.

Apollyon:

Fate isn’t something to mess with… and now, neither is Alex.

Alex has always feared two things: losing herself in the Awakening and being placed on the Elixir. But love has always been stronger than Fate, and Aiden St. Delphi is willing to make war on the gods—and Alex herself—to bring her back.

The gods have killed thousands and could destroy entire cities in their quest to stop Seth from taking Alex’s power and becoming the all-powerful God Killer. But breaking Alex’s connection to Seth isn’t the only problem. There are a few pesky little loopholes in the whole “an Apollyon can’t be killed” theory, and the only person who might know how to stop the destruction has been dead for centuries.

Finding their way past the barriers that guard the Underworld, searching for one soul among countless millions, and then somehow returning will be hard enough. Alex might be able to keep Seth from becoming the God Killer… or she might become the God Killer herself.

Sentinel:

It's a beautiful day for a war.

As the mortal world slowly slips into chaos of the godly kind, Alexandria Andros must overcome a stunning defeat that has left her shaken and in doubt of their ability to end this war once and for all.

And with all the obstacles between Alex and her happily-ever-after with the swoonworthy Aiden St. Delphi, they must now trust a deadly foe as they travel deep into the Underworld to release one of the most dangerous gods of all time.

In the stunning, action-packed climax to the bestselling Covenant series, Alex must face a terrible choice: the destruction of everything and everyone she holds dear… or the end of herself.

Waiting on Wensday 10/30/13 The Shadowhunters' Codex

The Shadowhunters' Codex by Cassandra Claire

The Clave is pleased to announce the newest edition of the Nephilim’s oldest and most famous training manual: the Shadowhunter’s Codex. Since the thirteenth century, the Codex has been the young Shadowhunter’s best friend. When you’re being swarmed by demons it can be easy to forget the finer points of obscure demon languages or the fastest way to stop an attack of Raum demons. With the Codex by your side, you never have to worry.

Now in its twenty-seventh edition, the Codex covers it all: the history and the laws of our world; how to identify, interact with, and if necessary, kill that world’s many colorful denizens; which end of the stele is the end you write with. No more will your attempt to fight off rogue vampires and warlocks be slowed by the need to answer endless questions from your new recruits: What is a Pyxis? Why don’t we use guns? If I can’t see a warlock’s mark, is there a polite way to ask him where it is? Where do we get all our holy water? Geography, History, Magic, and Zoology textbook all rolled into one, the Codex is here to help new Shadowhunters navigate the beautiful, often brutal world that we inhabit.

Do not let it be said that the Clave is outdated or, as the younger Shadowhunters say, “uncool”: this new edition of the Codex will be available not only in the usual magically-sealed demonskin binding, but also in a smart, modern edition using all of today’s most exciting printing techniques, including such new features as a sturdy clothbound cover, a protective dust jacket, and information about title, author, publisher, and so on conveniently available right on the cover. You’ll be pleased to know that it fits neatly into most satchels, and unlike previous editions, it rarely sets off alarm wards.

The old woodcuts and engravings have been replaced as well: instead, you’ll find lavish modern illustrations by some of the brightest luminaries of the fantastic. Creatures, weapons, people, and places have been carefully and accurately rendered by the likes of Rebecca Guay, Charles Vess, Jim Nelson, Theo Black, Elisabeth Alba, and Cassandra Jean. Chapters are beautifully introduced by the drawings of Michael Kaluta, and along with our condensation of the classic 2,450-page tome, A History of the Nephilim, you will find a selection of the best of the lovely illustrations of that volume by John Dollar.

This edition of the Codex will be available in Institute libraries and what mundanes sometimes call “book stores” in [OCTOBER], 2013

OMG!!!!! The Codex is coming out soon!!!!!! It comes out on the 29th!!! I am so excited to see the runes and read what makes a shadowhunter a shadowhunter. Not as good as Jace (besides who could as good as Jace?), but not bad like Sebastian or Valentine. Those of you who haven't read or haven't heard of TMI, the series are The Mortal Instruments (TMI) and Clockwork Angel (CA, came up with all by myself!) by Cassandra Claire. The Mortal Instruments is about a girl named Clary Fray who stumbles into a never before seen world and when I saw never before seen, I mean it. Humans or mundanes as Shadowhunters call them, are just ordinary people just like you and me. Then, she meets Jace, an arrogant, good looking guy who she had an unfortunate run in with when she and her best friend Simon were at a club and she saw this guy (Jace) kill a guy or was it? She is then forced into his world when her mom is kidnapped. Now she has to rely on Jace for help. Everything expands from there. Clockwork Angel is set back in time, but is the back story of how all of TMI became what it is today. It is such a recommened series and I dare you to try it. It's a guranteded must read and an all time favorite.!!!!!

Teaser Tuesday 10/15/13

This week's teaser is from Half-Blood (Covenant Series #1) by Jennifer L. Armentrout

Teaser!!!!!!

“I know that there are some pure-bloods who break the rule, but they do it because they don’t care about what happens to the other person, and I care about what happens to you.” His eyes searched mine intently. “I care about you more than I should and that’s why I’m not going to put you in that situation and jeopardize your future.”

“That doesn’t matter. These rules have been in place since the time the gods walked among mortals. Not even Lucian or Marcus would be able to stop what would happen. You’d be given the elixir and placed into servitude, Alex. And I couldn’t live with myself knowing what that would do to you. To see you lose everything that makes you who you are? I couldn’t bear that. I couldn’t live seeing you like the rest of the servants. You have too much life for that, too much life to lose for me.”

Armentrout, Jennifer L. (2011-09-19). Half-Blood (Covenant) (pp. 250-251). Spencer Hill Press.

Sweet Peril (Sweet Evil #2)

Sweet Peril (The Sweet Trilogy, #2)Sweet Peril by Wendy Higgins

My rating: 5 of 5 stars

Such a great sequel!!!! I wish I was a Neph too!!! Love Anna and Love Kaiden. Best couple in this book! Anna is heartbroken because of Kaiden and Kaiden is sad because of Anna. Love is in the air. But somethings may not be as they seem. Twists and turns come Anna's way she has to be able to face them, but what about Kaiden? Will she be with Kaiden in the end or will they never be together? You find out in this book!!! The gang is back in this one. Ginger and Marna, Blake and Kope, and finally...Kaiden and Anna!!! Absolutely LOVE this series. One of the best Angel Vs. Demons books I have ever read. Although I don't envy their situations and parents, the gang turned out pretty well!! Totally recommend this book and series to everyone.
