If you have read the Arotas series, you will now have more in-depth knowledge of what Rose went through. If not, here is the perfect time to read about a girl who suffered abuse from her husband and brother, but has a chance at love.
This is a dark and brutal book that leaves nothing out. It is an amazing prequel book to the Arotas series. Some prequels are really bad and not worth the time to read, but this is completely different. I give this book 10 out of 10. It was absolutely fabulous especially because I read the Arotas series first and had the chance to find out more about what happened to Roseline when she married Vladimir Enescue. It was brilliantly written. I especially like Fane!! I try not to give spoilers, but it so hard when a book is this amazing. It was heat wrenching to read about what Vlad and Lucian would do to Rose. No one should be able to do that to anyone. But Fane is Rose's saving grace. Out of the all the rape, abuse, and breaking bones, Fane is someone Rose comes to trust. He doesn't want to torture her, but make her stronger.
Did I mention that they are all Vampires or Immortals as they like to call themselves? But Roseline is stronger then that! She will never hurt anyone, but there is two people she would love to destroy the two people who hurt her and her family. And she so happens to be married to one of them.
