Do Anything by Wendy Owens Review

Do Anything
By Wendy Owens
Blurb:
A broken heart is only the beginning for her.
Bookworm Annabelle Hart thinks she’s found the love of her life. But when her fiance's philandering ways shatter their happy future, she decides she’s through playing the victim. Now, rather than read about life, she wants to live it—starting with a sabbatical from her editing job in Chicago to travel the world. But the past refuses to let her go so easily.
He thinks he has his life figured out.
After watching the woman he thought he loved walk away from him, Holden Blackburn is still picking up the pieces. Content with his life as the owner of an English Inn, just outside the sleepy town of Alton, he’s living his new and peaceful normal. That is, at least, until Annabelle stumbles into his life, and he’s overwhelmed by a desire to learn all he can about her. Now if only he can get her to stay in one place long enough.
Will they risk their hearts on a new chance at love?
When her past returns in a way she can’t ignore, Anna panics, running from any possible future with Holden. She’s determined to keep her life from falling apart again, but she soon discovers the only place she feels safe is in Holden’s arms. But some things even he can’t protect her from.

This is a NA novel. I recommend it for 18 years and older.

This was a Great Book. Totally 5 stars!! It is a swoon-worthy book. I am just sad it doesn't have a sequel, but I can always hope right? Anyway, Annabelle has a cheating fiancĂ©. She found him in their bed with the neighbor from across the hall. Now that is a stupid thing to do. She should have seen the signs from when they were in college. I get that she loves him and all, and I can see how that sort of love and devotion can blind their view of certain people's habits, but he seemed like the kind of person who knew they would end up together anyway so he thought he could get away with it. After Annabelle finds them together, she kicks him out and starts to sell everything. Furniture, the condo, everything. She flies to Britain to get away from it all and meets the owner of the Three Horseshoes, Holden. They hit it off and start to spend time together.

Did I mention she was a bookworm? Well, she is and it gets better!! He is too!!! You don't see that ever. Today everyone hates reading, but Holden has restored my faith in people's ability to read for fun!! After 6 weeks at the Three Horseshooes, she finds out some disturbing news and leaves Holden and the Inn heartbroken at the decision. I think she has issues. She just leaves. She rights a letter instead of facing him. That just makes me infuriated. How would you feel if someone just left and just wrote a letter saying bye? I would be heartbroken. After her break up, she doesn't want to give her heart to anyone in fear of being hurt again. I can understand that, but sometimes you have to let go of the bad to see the good in life. That is Holden is the good that came out of the bad. Wendy did such a good job with Holden's character. Strong yet sensitive. Hurt but can love. He is the best boyfriend and friend a bookworm can ask for!!! And for Jane Eyre fans, Annabelle happens to be staying 3 miles from her home!!!

There is suspense in the situation, passion, betrayal, surprises especially for Annabelle. Do Anything comes out April 3. I absolutely recommend buying this book. You won't regret it!.

Do Anything released on sale for 99c!

There's an alien next door. And with his looming height and eerie green eyes, he's hot...until he opens his mouth. He's infuriating. Arrogant. Stab-worthy. But when a stranger attacks me and Daemon literally freezes time with a wave of his hand, he lights me up with a big fat bulls-eye. If I don’t kill him first, that is.
Onyx
Daemon’s determined to prove what he feels for me is more than a product of our bizarro alien connection. So I’ve sworn him off, even though he’s running more hot than cold these days. But we’ve got bigger problems. I’ve seen someone who shouldn’t be alive. And I have to tell Daemon, even though I know he’s never going to stop searching until he gets the truth. The death of someone close still lingers, help comes from the most unlikely source, and friends will become the deadliest of enemies, but we won’t turn back. Even if the outcome will shatter our worlds forever.
Origin
Daemon will do anything to get Katy back. After the successful but disastrous raid on Mount Weather, he’s facing the impossible. Katy is gone. Taken. Everything becomes about finding her. And will they even be together?

Now here they are side by side!!!

Believe (Chasing Shadows, #1) by Mia Fox

Believe (Chasing Shadows, #1) by Mia Fox

Nate survived countless attacks on his Marine platoon while in Afghanistan, but one undying thought kept him safe -- the knowledge that Ella was waiting for him.

Ella marked off the days until Nate’s return by writing letters to him, knowing that once he was safely home, they would fulfill their promise to live each day to its fullest.

Theirs was a love that would endure separation...even in the wake of a tragic accident.

Although now apart, Ella is given reason to believe in ghosts when Nate’s presence visits her and remains her lover. But when another man enters her life, Ella struggles to give herself over to a new love and maintain her bond to Nate’s ghost.

A romantic ghost story and love triangle tied to one woman’s need to...Believe.

Recommended for 18 years or older.

Who knew life could be taken so daily and so fast. After having Nate come back from Afghanistan, Elle thought life was perfect until a deer crossed the road. When she woke up, Nate was gone and she was alone again. But Nate seems so close. Like right next to her. He is there; looking after her in the  daylight, but there is a problem. Nate is a Ghost.

I think was a great book and I would recommend it, but I hated the way it ended. NO SPOILERS, but the events that lead up to it goes down hill fast. What I mean is that from beginning to middle it was great. Nate is a Ghost and she is forced to see a therapist and they grow close, but after that it seemed that it lost its momentum. She decided to make a rash decision and tell her therapist about Nate, which anyone would think it would be insane, but the way she explains Nate and about growing closer seemed twisted even though up till that point she seemed totally normal about rationalizing Nate as a ghost to herself.

Overall, I did like this book and can't wait for book two, named Trust. Just wish Believe had a more believable ending instead of Elle acting like a child and a special someone acting like a complete and actually sane jerk. I would also like to thank Evaptopia Press for letting me review this book!

True Colors by Melissa Pearl

True Colors by Melissa Pearl

Caitlyn Davis always cruised through life, not being the type to ruffle feathers or involve herself in high school drama. That is, until a chance encounter with a strange, homeless man changes everything.

Suddenly, Caitlyn has the ability to see behind people's masks. She discovers that her life isn’t as simple as she imagined and high school is filled with secrets...some very sinister ones.

Unable to ignore her new gift, Caitlyn embarks on a mission to learn why one of her friends suddenly appears terrified, but masks her fear with a bright, smiling veneer. Will Caitlyn's new ability lead her into hot water? Or is her new found vision
a blessing that will expose her friends' true colors?

Her quest will lead Caitlyn to lose friends, stand up for those in need, and even find love.

At Palisades High School every face tells a story...

First of all, I would like to thank Evatopia for emailing me and introducing to this book. It is amazing. Now, on to the review. I love the cover!! It is a beautiful mask and has beautiful colors. Now, I know when you read the summary and you come to the part about the homeless man, it seems really creepy and should have been worded differently. Just for clarification, there is a homeless man that changes her life, but you have to read to understand. Caitlyn, her best friends, and her boyfriend go to a club where there is a homeless who is begging for money. After that, that is were you have to read.

Anyway, I love this book. It is all about people and how they don't show their true emotions/intentions. Hence the masks. Caitlyn has gotten the power to see beyond the masks to see what people are truly feeling. Plus, there is a college hottie who everyone loves and has wash-board abs. Anyway, one of Caitlyn's friends is in trouble, but she doesn't know why though she does know that it involves her friends boyfriend. Problem is that everyone thinks that they are the golden couple. And the college hottie? Will they get together or will the be pulled apart? Never know until you read the book! Tip: Always know who your real friends are because they could be hiding behind a mask.
